The Ouachita men’s basketball team surprised everyone last year when they got an at-large berth to the NCAA II south regional tournament and upset No. 1 seed and host Florida Southern to finish the year at 20-10.

Baumgardner promoted to assistant to the director of campus safety
Campus patrol officer Deryl Baumgardner, 55, was recently promoted to the position of lieutenant with the added title of assistant to the director of campus safety after three years of service to Ouachita Baptist University.

Theatre department presents Mark Twain’s “Is He Dead?”
On the evenings of Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 the stage of Verser Theatre will show the play “Is He Dead.” The play stars students Lauren Godfrey and Greg Schwartz.
OBU baseball releases 2009 schedule
Coming off the heels of an NCAA Division II National Runner-ups, Ouachita Baptist University baseball coach Chris Moddelmog announced the release of the upcoming 2009 schedule.
