E-mail would have to do. Brian Bridges, Ouachita’s new cheerleading coach, only had one chance for the next week to meet with me. We planned the interview for Monday night, while the cheerleaders practiced, and I missed it. My car and I had a date with a ditch and it was about half an hour before I was able to leave there, unharmed but disappointed. (more…)

I’ve never been a big fan of Andy Warhol. I never really saw the point in portraying a person’s face in the brightest colors available, or recreating boxes from a store shelf, or even flat-colored soup cans. For Kati Baldwin, a sophomore from Conway, Ark., coming to Ouachita wasn’t exactly at the top of her “to do” list. Both her parents are Ouachita alumni, but Kati is a very independent person. “I just don’t want to follow the crowd all the time,” Baldwin emphatically stated. This statement has become her motto, and it certainly affected her while trying to decide on the right school. (more…)

For three years, Ouachita students have been giving of their time and resources during the Thanksgiving season. The Ben M. Elrod Center for Family and Community directs the Thanksgiving basket project which invites students to distribute baskets of food to area residents in need.
