The Ouachita Baptist University women’s basketball team used a huge first-half run to win its fourth straight as the Lady Tigers rolled past Texas A&M-International, 98-85, Tuesday during the opening day of the River City Classic at Bill Greehey Arena on the campus of St. Mary’s University. Bridges brings experience and excitement to cheerleading team

E-mail would have to do. Brian Bridges, Ouachita’s new cheerleading coach, only had one chance for the next week to meet with me. We planned the interview for Monday night, while the cheerleaders practiced, and I missed it. My car and I had a date with a ditch and it was about half an hour before I was able to leave there, unharmed but disappointed.  (more…)

Warhol exhibit turns heads, changes minds

I’ve never been a big fan of Andy Warhol. I never really saw the point in portraying a person’s face in the brightest colors available, or recreating boxes from a store shelf, or even flat-colored soup cans. But as an artist, I study art movements for reference, and I see exhibits for the personal look of art. (more…)


Student Profile: Kati Baldwin

For Kati Baldwin, a sophomore from Conway, Ark., coming to Ouachita wasn’t exactly at the top of her “to do” list. Both her parents are Ouachita alumni, but Kati is a very independent person. “I just don’t want to follow the crowd all the time,” Baldwin emphatically stated. This statement has become her motto, and it certainly affected her while trying to decide on the right school. (more…)
