Ouachita hosts first-ever senior theatre arts show

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Ouachita Baptist University will host its first senior theatre arts show April 29 at 8 p.m. in Verser Theatre. The show is an opportunity for senior theatre arts majors to display a culmination of their theatre studies at Ouachita. Participating seniors will perform Lee Blessing’s one-act play Eleemosynary which follows the relationships of three generations of women.

Seibert wins Virginia Queen Piano Competition

Abigail Seibert, a senior from Benton, Ark., and a student of Dr. Cai Lei, was awarded first place at Ouachita Baptist University’s 32nd annual Virginia Queen Piano Competition on April 17. The competition was held in McBeth Recital Hall and was judged by the piano team Pas de Duo. (more…)

Sale raises money for scholarships

On Friday, May 1, the Ouachita Student Foundation will be hosting its first annual rummage sale from 1-4 p.m. in the courtyard, weather permitting.

The purpose of the sale is to raise funds for OSF to reward scholarships to deserving upperclassmen.

Theater presents ‘Millie’

The theater department’s spring production “Thoroughly Modern Millie” opens tonight, April 23, at 7:30 in the Jones Performing Arts Center.

The musical is set in the year 1922 and centers on the main character Millie Dillmount who moves to New York City in hopes of marrying her boss so she will be rich.
