LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- As it is in competition, every second counts, and the Ouachita Baptist Tigersharks made sure to take advantage of every opportunity, capturing their second National Championship in as many days in the 200 yard Freestyle relay at the NCAA Division II Championships at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pa. on Thursday. Ouachita also won an NCAA title in the 200 yard Medley Relay on the opening day of competition

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- After 23 runs, 37 hits and eight pitchers later, it was Ouachita Baptist who came out on top against Missouri S&T in the offensive onslaught, 13-10, in the final round of the Effington Optical Invitational in Springfield, Mo. on Sunday.

ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist completed a double header sweep on Sunday in the annual Battle of the Ravine softball series against Henderson, as the Lady Tigers took Game 3, 6-0, while holding on late to take Game 4, 5-3, at Sully Anderson Field in Arkadelphia.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo- Ouachita Baptist picked up a huge fifth inning offensively and never looked back in defeating Drury, 10-4, in the second round of the Heffington Optical Invitational at Meador Park in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday.
Ouachita (10-8) used a seven-run fifth inning coupled with a solid complete game outing from junior Sam McGill (2-2) to stop Drury (5-8) on their home field, after losing to St. Cloud State, 5-3, on Friday.

ARKADELPHIA- Alexis Johns provided late-inning heroics for Ouachita Baptist in Game 1, providing the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning, defeating Henderson State, 2-1, in the opening game of the four-game series. The Lady Reddies came back to take Game 2 with a 4-0 win to split the opening Gulf South Conference series 1-1 on Saturday at Sully Anderson Field in Arkadelphia.

He began playing the game when he was old enough to swing a club. Where he grew up, there was no country club, driving range or putting green, nor did he have his own clubs. What he did have was a set of hand-me-downs his father gave to him. His favorite club was an old 7-iron he found that had black masking tape wrapped around the top as a makeshift grip. When he wanted to practice, he and his father would drive out to his grandmother’s cow pasture with those old clubs and work on certain skills and techniques. To Eli Fuentez, this cow pasture was his playing field.

ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist started strong and cruised to a 9-0 victory over Southern Arkansas in a Gulf South Conference Women’s Tennis matchup at the Heflin Tennis Center in Arkadelphia on Tuesday.
Ouachita (1-6) swept doubles action to begin the afternoon, as Mariana Divardin/Tavu Fa defeated Caitlin Korensek/Felicia Carroll, 8-0 in the No. 1 spot. The Lady Tigers followed with victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, as Katie Potts/Lilia Sokolova topped Megan Phinny/Leslie Miller, 8-3, followed by a win from Megan Ruggles/Samantha Street via forfeit.

ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist junior Gabby Coleman has been named to the 2010 Gulf South Conference Women’s Basketball Second Team, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
Coleman finished fourth in the GSC in scoring, averaging 16.6 points per game, while also finishing eighth in steals with 54, tenth in three-point field goals made with 47 and tenth in blocked shots with 18.
