O uachita Baptist placed 29 on the All-Gulf South Conference Academic Spring Honor Roll and had four selected to the All-Academic Teams.

Tigers outfielders Justin Pennell and Blake Lockwood, golfer Rob Greer and men’s tennis player Ondrej Vana were named to their respective All-Academic Teams by the Gulf South Conference.

Pennell, a senior from Toronto, Canada, helped guide the Ouachita Baptist baseball team to an NCAA Division II National Runner-Up. He was named the South Central Regional Most Outstanding Player. Pennell had a 3.6 grade point average, while majoring in Kinesiology.

Lockwood, a junior from Stuttgart, Ark., led the Gulf South Conference in stolen bases with 48. A member of the All-Gulf South Conference Second Team, he is majoring in biology with a 3.8 G.P.A.

Greer, a sophomore from Little Rock, is making his second consecutive appearance to the GSC All-Academic Team. Greer is majoring in Business Administration with a 4.0 G.P.A.

Vana had an outstanding year for the Ouachita Baptist men’s tennis team. He ranked No. eighth in singles play and fourth in doubles. He was tabbed the GSC West Division Player of the Year. Vana has a 3.6 G.P.A.

The Lady Tiger softball program had 12players named to the All-GSC Academic Spring Honor Roll. Sarah Bell, Kelli Beth Bratton, Sara Hanson, Beth McGhee, Kelly Mears, Crystal Robinson, Randi Wilson, Korrie Cook, Aspen Grams, Whitney Hoppe, Kristin Rigsbee and Katie Shurbert earned the honors.

Baseball was second with nine selected as Drew Baker, Chandler Boyce, Reece Dodd, Rudy Jovanovski, Steve Smith, Zach Wilbanks, Drew Wurzelbacher, Jarod Hershberger and Chad Taylor garners the honors.

Women’s tennis had four players named, including Tavu Fa, Annie Gerber, Katie Potts and Kristie Reid. The men’s team had three players selected as Vagen Akapian, Adam Hurst and Jakub Smid received the award.

Bobby Allen was the lone men’s golfer to be named to the All-GSC Academic Spring Honor Roll.
