Is He Dead? earns honors at festival

The cast and crew of IS HE DEAD? had success at the Arkansas State Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.  After performing in Fort Smith, Ark., on Saturday, Nov. 8, as part of the festival, IS HE DEAD? received several awards including:
• Directors’ Choice Regional Nomination
• Respondents’ Choice Regional Nomination
• Excellence in Directing (to Prof. Daniel Inouye)
• Excellence in Costume Design (to Jeffrey Stokes, supervised by Prof. Mary Handiboe)
• Excellence in Stage Management (to Daniel Collier)
• Excellence in Dramaturgy (to Leah Nixon)
• Excellence in Load-in/Load-out (to the company, led by Prof. Eric Phillips)
• Excellence in Acting: Irene Ryan Scholarship Nomination (to Lauren Godfrey, Michael Krikorian and Greg Schwartz)
• Honor Crew Participation (to Rachel Garret-Bland, Jeff Stokes, Manna Yamasaki)

Ouachita Baptist University was the only school from Arkansas to receive a nomination to be considered for a performance slot at the Region VI KCACTF which will take place at Texas State University, San Marcos at the end of February 2009.  The KCACTF Regional Committee will decide which nominated shows will be invited to perform at the regional level during their annual deliberation meeting at the beginning of December.
