Lady Tigers drop three spots in regional rankings

The Ouachita Baptist University women’s basketball dropped three spots to No. 10 in Wednesday’s NCAA Division II South Regional Rankings.

The Lady Tigers (18-7 overall, 7-5 GSC West) were seventh last week and dropped to No. 10 after going 1-1 last week with a win over Southern Arkansas and a loss against Arkansas Tech.

Ouachita is one of five Gulf South Conference schools in the Top 10. Delta State, which was second last week, takes over the new top spot. West Georgia is fourth, while Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech are sixth and seventh, respectively.

Fort Valley State is No. 2, followed by Rollins, which dropped two spots after being ranked No. 1 last week. Tampa is fifth, while Clark Atlanta is eighth and Florida Southern ninth.

Ouachita concludes the regular season with a pair of games, starting 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26 at Bill Vining Arena during Senior Night against rival Henderson State. The Lady Tigers finish Gulf South Conference West Division play 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28 at Harding.
