Men’s Tennis blanks UAPB

The 14th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men’s tennis team rolled past Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 9-0, Thursday afternoon at the Heflin Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the team of Jan Plewinski and Till Heilshorn defeated Hugo Gomez and Eduardo Lugue, 8-6, while Jean Charles Diame and Pierre Tafelski blanked Jorge Villicis and Andres Riobueno, 8-0. Szymon Judek and Vasek Stverka defeated Bruno Hurtado and James Cowan, 8-0.

In singles action, Plewinski, ranked No. 26, topped Gomez, 6-4, 6-2, while Heilshorn blanked Lugue, 6-0, 6-0. Diame beat Villicis, 6-0, 6-2 and Tafelski defeated Riobueno, 6-1, 6-0. Judek topped Hurtado 6-1, 6-0 and Daniel Moser beat James Cowan, 6-0, 6-0.

The Tigers (2-0) return to action, Thursday, Feb. 19 against Tyler Junior College.
