OBU golfers 13th after first round of invitational

The Ouachita Baptist men’s golf team was in action Friday afternoon, shooting a 308 to finish the opening round 13th of the Derrall Foreman Invitational held by Delta State University.

The North Alabama Purple team leads the field with a 276. Arkansas Tech is in second with a 285 and the Delta State White team is third with a 288. Behind Delta State is North Alabama (289), Lindenwood Gold (292), Lindenwood (293), Harding (294), Henderson State (298), Delta State (299), Lambuth (299), Mobile (301) and Mississippi College (303). Behind the Tigers was Millsaps with a 335.

Klayton Seyler, who had 14 pars, led Ouachita by shooting a 37 on the front nine and a 38 on the back for a 75 as he is tied for 32nd. Rob Greer finished the round with a 76 and is tied for 39th. Cole Fisher (78) and Bobby Allen (79) are tied for 55th and 61st, respectively. Brooks Sisson rounds out the field with an 82 as he is tied for 67th.
