OBU golfers 14th after first round in Oklahoma

The Ouachita Baptist men’s golf team sits in 14th place after Monday’s opening round of the 10th Annual Northeastern Oklahoma Golf Classic at the Emerald Falls Golf Club.

The Tigers shot a 324 to enter Tuesday’s second round in 14th place. Washburn University is first with a 293, while Central Oklahoma is just three strokes back at 296. Arkansas Tech (297) and Abilene Christian (299) remain in contention in third and fourth place, respectively. Central Missouri rounds out the top five after shooting a 302.

Rob Greer and Klayton Seyler shots 78s to finish tied for 45th after the first round. Greer shot a 39 on the front and back nines, while Seyler had a 41 on the front and recovered with a 37 on the back. Blake Sisson (tied for 57th) fired an 80, while Cole Fisher (tied for 79th) shot an 88. Rounding out Ouachita Baptist was Bobby Allen (81st), who fired an 89.

Washburn’s Matt Ewald is tied for the lead with St. Mary’s Matt Vela in the clubhouse with a 70.
