OBU volleyball drops GSC match to Arkansas Tech

The Ouachita Baptist volleyball team opened Gulf South Conference West Division play Tuesday night with a 3-0 loss to Arkansas Tech at Tucker Coliseum.

The Golden Suns (13-1 overall, 1-0 GSC West) rolled to a 25-11. 25-12, 25-15 victory.

Meredith Henry led Ouachita Baptist, which came into the match having won its last match, with 13 kills, while Lexie Hegi added 21 assists and a team-high seven digs.

Laura Farney paced Arkansas Tech with 10 kills. Kayla Allison finished with 28 assists. Defensively, Kera Dukic and Brennae Benda each chipped in with 11 digs.

Ouachita Baptist (1-13, 0-1) returns home 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 25 to the Sturgis Center to take on Christian Brothers in a Gulf South Conference West Division match, which is also the GSC Match of the Week.
