OBU’s Henry selected to All-GSC first team

Ouachita Baptist University senior Meredith Henry was named Wednesday to the All-Gulf South Conference West Division Volleyball First Team.

The native of Little Rock, Ark., was the only Ouachita player named to the first or second teams. She finished this season with 278 kills, 70 total blocks, 68 digs and 30 service aces. Henry also hit .273 in 27 matches.

Henry’s biggest match came Sept. 25 against Christian Brothers, where she recorded 20 kills in 40 attempts for a .425 hitting percentage.

Brennae Benda of Arkansas Tech was tabbed GSC West Division Freshman of the Year. Manuela Nesheva of Harding garnered West Division Player of the Year honors. Arkansas Tech’s Kristy Bayer was named GSC West Division Coach of the Year.
