November 17, 2008

Jaranimo Marks and Rowan Ledbetter were named late Sunday night to the St. Edward’s Shootout Classic All-Tournament Team.
Marks, who was selected the tournament’s most valuable player, averaged 20.5 points in two games as the Tigers split the Classic games, falling to Texas A&M-International Saturday, 74-63 and beating host St. Edward’s, 81-74, on Sunday.

The senior guard from Arkadelphia had 17 points in the opener, but led Ouachita in a come-from-behind win against the Hilltoppers with 24 points.

Ledbetter averaged 15 points in the two contests and played a significant role down the stretch in helping the Tigers rally from 15-down to down St. Edward’s.

Taylor Mullenax and Reggie Shanks earned the honor from St. Edward’s, while Deundrae Spraggins and Sammy Jackson garnered the award from Texas A&M-Commerce. Texas A&M-International’s Jerante Morgan also was selected to the all-tournament team.

Ouachita opens the home portion of its schedule 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Bill Vining Arena against LeTourneau.
