OBU’s Smith tabbed Honorable Mention All-American

Ouachita Baptist senior pitcher Steve Smith added to his already impressive resume by being named Honorable Mention All-American.
Smith, a native of Texarkana, Ark., finished his four-year career at Ouachita Baptist as the all-time single-season strikeout leader with 143. More impressively, he holds the career mark with 313 strikeouts during his four years at the school.

Besides the 143 strikeouts recorded by Smith this season, he finished with a 2.00 ERA and a 10-1 record. He was named to the All-South Central Region First Team, All-Gulf South Conference First Team, All-South Central Region Tournament Team and NCAA Division II College World Series Most Valuable Player.
