Pruet School to host Seminary Day Nov. 6

October 27, 2009

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Ouachita Baptist University’s Pruet School of Christian Studies will host a Seminary Day on Friday, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Evans Student Center on Ouachita’s campus.

Fourteen seminaries from across North America will be represented. Each seminary will provide a table with representatives and information about the school and its programs of study. Several of the schools offer more than pastoral training programs, with master’s programs in counseling and social work, as well.

“We encourage all of our graduates in Christian Studies to further prepare themselves for ministry through a seminary program,” said Dr. Danny Hays, dean of the Pruet School of Christian Studies. “We don’t have any one particular school that we recommend, so this helps students determine for themselves the strengths and weaknesses of different seminaries.”

Seminaries that will be represented include B.H. Carroll Theological Institute in Arlington, Texas; Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary in Cochrane, Ontario; Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas; DBU Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership in Dallas, Texas; John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark.; Logsdon School of Theology in Abilene, Texas; Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tenn.; Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo.; New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, La.; Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.; Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.; Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill.; and Truett Theological Seminary in Waco, Texas.
