Take a Kid to the Game Day set for Jan. 31

January 27, 2009

Ouachita Baptist University, along with the NCAA, will have a promotional event on Saturday, Jan. 31 as the men’s and women’s basketball teams will take part in a “Take a Kid to the Game Day” against Harding University at Bill Vining Arena.

Admission for children 16-and-under is free and adults will pay children prices — $3 as Ouachita will take on Harding with the women’s game beginning at 3 p.m., with the men to follow at 5.

The NCAA promotional event is in its 14th year as a nationwide, grassroots effort that encourages adults to take a child to see a collegiate basketball contest.

Ouachita’s next game prior to the “Take a Kid to the Game” promotion is Thursday, Jan. 29 at rival Henderson State. The Lady Tigers tip things off at 6 p.m., at the Duke Wells Center, with the men to follow at 8. Both games can be heard on the Ouachita Baptist University Athletic Web site at: www.obutigers.com.
