September 20, 2010

ARKADELPHIA- A pair of early goals by sophomore Rizvan Ceka were easily enough offense for Ouachita Baptist, as the Tigers defeated Harding, 4-1, in a non-conference match up in Arkadelphia on Thursday.

Ouachita (4-1) struck first in the match, as Ceka delivered the first goal by either team at 13:31, as sophomore Payam Pourjavad assisted on the play. At 20:34, Ceka answered the call again for the Tigers, scoring his fourth goal of the season on a pass from senior Alex Tonrey to give Ouachita a 2-0 lead going into half.

After half, sophomore Jason Cantwell recorded an unassisted goal for Ouachita at the 52nd minute. While it was a one-sided affair for practically the entire match, Harding broke through with a goal at 75:33, as Victor Moya recorded the lone score for the Bison.

Sophomore Sergiu Postolache finished the match off with a goal at 87:41, scoring his team-high fourth goal of the season, as Pourjavad recorded his second assist of the game. Postolache and Ceka are both tied with the team lead in goals, while Pourjavad shares the team lead in assists with Tonrey.

Ouachita returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 18 against John Brown University in a non-conference match in Arkadelphia.
