Lady Tigers Down Harding On the Road

After being down by a point at halftime, the Ouachita Lady Tigers (15-8, 8-5 GAC) posted a spectacular second half performance, downing the Lady Bisons of Harding University (16-7, 9-4 GAC) by a final score of 76-60. The Lady Tigers scored 47 points in the 20 minute second half, pulling away from Harding and putting themselves back in position among the frontrunners in the GAC.

Ouachita was led by sophomore Nashia James, who finished with 17 points while adding three rebounds. Senior A’Laeshia Adams posted 13 points of her own, also adding a game-high seven assists.. Senior Domino Miller added 12 for the Lady Tigers. Senior Tamara Robinson had a team-high eight rebounds while sophomore Elise Holman and junior Breanna Dillard both had seven rebounds.

Harding was led by Montana Lewis, who recorded 14 points and five rebounds for the Lady Bisons. Arielle Saunders recorded a game-high 10 rebounds while Kallie Bartee recorded three steals.

Ouachita shot 37.5 percent from the floor while holding Harding to 35.3 percent from the floor. The Lady Tigers did a great job of forcing turnovers, forcing 21 by the Lady Bisons, while only committing 13 of their own. The Lady Tigers also recorded 25 rebounds as compared to Harding’s 23.

The Lady Tigers return to the hardwood on Monday, February 23, when they travel across the street to rival Henderson State. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
