April 15, 2013

The Ouachita Lady Tigers and the No. 5 ranked Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma returned to the field for another doubleheader on Saturday. The Lady Tigers weren’t able to come up with an upset victory, as they ended up falling by scores of 9-1 and 5-0.

The second day of action in Durant kicked off with a tough loss for the Lady Tigers, as Southeastern got hot and took a 9-1 win.

The Savage Storm kicked off the game with a 3 RBI double in the first inning, putting the Lady Tigers in an early hole.

Ouachita scored a run in the third, when Suzie Gresham scored on a throwing error, but that would prove to be their only run of the game.

Southeastern then notched five runs in the fifth and another in the sixth, giving themselves the eventual 9-1 final score.

The second game ended in a similar state, as the Lady Tigers fell again, this time by a score of 5-0.

Southeastern put a run up in the second inning on an RBI single, before stretching their lead to two runs in the fourth inning with another RBI single.

Southeastern wasn’t done though, as they put up another three runs and gave themselves a 5-0 lead.

The Lady Tigers weren’t able to come up with any runs, despite four hits, and fell 5-0.

The Lady Tigers close out the year with a conference series at home next weekend against Southern Arkansas. First pitch is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.
