“Ouachita to me as a kid was the perfect place on earth. It was where all my role models lived. I wanted to grow up and be a Ouachita student, like I didn’t see life past Ouachita. If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say, ‘I wanna grow and go to Ouachita.’ As I got older I realized that it’s not perfect. But I mean it was Ouachita students, besides my parents and my church, investing in me that made me want to become a Christian. The hardest part was that they would come, they would be my sibling and best friend and then they have to leave. I think now its affected me in that its really hard to see people graduate but I’m honestly so used to it. I grew up for the first 18 years of my life getting used to the fact that they come, their here and then they leave. That’s just what happens. The one’s that come back or the one’s that stay in touch, those are the ones that I know that I maybe have impacted their life just as much as they impacted mine.”
