OBU Baseball moves one spot to No. 2 in Ping

A day after jumping two spots to No. 5 in the NCAA Division II College Baseball Newspaper poll, the Ouachita Baptist University baseball team also moved one spot to No. 2 Tuesday in the latest Ping!Division II Baseball Rankings.

The Tigers (9-2), who went 4-0 last week with a win over a Truman State and taking three from Drury, saw top-ranked Tampa and Delta State tumble in the rankings. Southern Arkansas (8-3) became the new No. 1 after a pair of wins over Tampa and West Alabama.

Besides Ouachita and Southern Arkansas in the rankings, other Gulf South Conference schools in the poll were West Alabama (6-4) 10th, Delta State (4-5) 18th and West Florida (7-3) 27th.

The Tigers will travel 3:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 to take on West Alabama in Livingston, Ala. Ouachita will play West Alabama and St. Joseph’s twice each during the weekend. All games will be available on live stats.
