OBU men’s basketball lose to Arkansas Tech

The Ouachita Baptist University men’s basketball team couldn’t stop a hot-shooting Arkansas Tech team as the Tigers fell, 85-59, Thursday night in a Gulf South Conference West Division game at Bill Vining Arena.

Daniel Maddox paced Ouachita (13-11 overall, 3-8 GSC West) with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while Ed Keyes was 5-of-10 on the night for 11 points. The Tigers were 22-of-53 (42 percent) shooting and 9-of-15 (60 percent) from the charity stripe.

Chad Henderson led Arkansas Tech (17-7, 7-4) with 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting. Brandon Friedel and Troy Marcus had 14 and 12, respectively as the Wonder Boys were 34-of-54 (63 percent) from the floor and 10-of-18 (56 percent) from behind the 3-point line.

Ouachita hits the road for a 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21 tip-off against Southern Arkansas in a Gulf South Conference West Division game in Magnolia, Ark. The game can be heard on the Ouachita Baptist University Athletic Web site at: www.obutigers.com.
