Men’s tennis rolls past No. 22 Southwest Baptist

The 14th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men’s tennis team rolled to another win, an 8-1 victory, Friday afternoon over No. 22 Southwest Baptist at the Heflin Tennis Center.

The Tigers (3-0) took two of three in doubles as the team of Jan Plewinski and Till Heilshorn defeated Emilio E; Alabi and Marton Zsiga, 8-3. Jean Charles Diame and Pierre Tafelski beat Jorge Margaritta and Jorge Palacios, 8-2. In No. 3 doubles, Szymon Judek and Vasek Stverka fell to Agustin Mollar and Tyler Welch, 8-3.

In singles action, No. 26 Plewinski defeated Zsiga, 7-5, 6-2 and Heilshorn topped Alabi, 3-6, 7-5, (10-6). Diame beat Mollar, 6-3, 6-2 and Tafelski knocked off Margaritta, 7-5, 6-0. Judek and Daniel Moser won their matches over Palacios and Welch, respectively, 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-1.

Ouachita, which defeated No. 1 Tyler Junior College, 7-2, Thursday, takes on No. 23 Oklahoma Christian 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Heflin Tennis Center.
