OBU women’s tennis falls to Southwest Baptist

The Ouachita Baptist University women’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision Saturday to Southwest Baptist at the Heflin Tennis Center.

The Lady Tigers (1-5) went 2-1 in doubles play as the team of Natalia Drada and Tavu Fa beat Jolee Cook and Johanna Olson, 9-8 (7-3) and Mariana Divardin topped Jenna Henderickson and Trish Moceo, 8-4. Thoko Zulu and Megan Ruggles fell to Sarah Sentliniger and Crystal Guiot, 8-4.

In singles play, Divardin fell to Cook, 3-6, 6-0, 7-5, while Katie Potts dropped a 7-5, 7-0 decision to Moceo. Sentliniger defeated Zulu, 6-0, 6-4 and Ruggles fell to Guiot, 6-1, 6-1. Drada was up on Olson, 3-2 and Fa on top of Henderickson, 5-4, as both matches did not finish.

Ouachita returns to action 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5 at Delta State.
