OBU Division of Music presents Tyler Burleson in senior voice recital

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will present Tyler Burleson, a senior church music major from Camden, Ark., in a senior vocal performance recital on Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on Ouachita’s campus.

Burleson, a member of Ouachita Singers, will begin with Handel’s “Ombra mai fù,” followed by Legrenzi’s “Che fiero costume,” and Hahn’s “À Chloris.” He will then perform selections from Schumann’s Dichterliebe, including “1. Im wundershönen Monat Mai,” “2. Aus meinen Tränen sprießen,” “3. Die Rose, die Lilie, die Taube, die Sonne,” “4. Wenn ich in deine Augen seh,” and “7. Ich grolle nicht.”

The recital will continue with Dvorak’s “I Will Sing New Songs of Gladness” and Holst’s “The Heart Worships.” It will conclude with two selections by Mark Hayes, “Deep River” and “Joshua Fit the Battle.”

Burleson will be accompanied on the piano by Phyllis Walker. The recital is free and open to the public. For more information, contact OBU’s School of Fine Arts at (870) 245-5129.
