Lady Tigers battle to 1-1 tie with West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga.- An early goal by Ouachita Baptist, coupled with a defensive battle that lasted two overtimes ended in a 1-1 tie with Gulf South Conference opponent West Georgia on Friday in Carrollton, Ga.

Ouachita (5-6-1, 1-3-1 GSC) scored first in the 37th minute as sophomore Brittany Davidson put the Lady Tigers up 1-0 off an assist from junior Beth Wendl. West Georgia answered back at 83:11 with a goal from Olivia Noethe to tie the game at 1-1.

Both teams struggled to score in overtime and double overtime, as Ouachita senior keeper Whitley Hoppe posted a shutout in both extra time periods, recording five saves.

The Lady Tigers return to the field on Sunday, Oct. 10 to face Delta State at 1 p.m. in Arkadelphia.
