Ouachita Singers is sponsoring a movie poster sale in Verser Theater on Monday, Nov. 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Ouachita’s SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) club is sponsoring a Ethics Week this week. As part of this event a seminar on academic integrity (Dr. Eubanks and Student Senate) is on Friday, Nov. 20. All students and faculty are invited to come with questions, comments and concerns. The session will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. in Evans Student Center Banquet Room A. Ouachita’s Jazz Band will have a concert Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.

Students who want to reserve or pre-pay for their entire schedule of spring books needs to either bring a copy of their schedule by the bookstore or e-mail their ID number to the bookstore after they pre-register. Students who reserve or pre-pay will receive 10 percent off their total. This also gets them the first choice at used text.

Ouachita’s Department of Visual Arts has invited the Caddo River Art Guild to exhibit its work in the Hammons Gallery located in Mabee Fine Arts Center from Nov. 23 to Dec. 17. The exhibit will display a variety of media by about 50 artists, including oil painting, water color painting, acrylic painting, metal sculptures, photography, raku pottery, paper tole and print making. A reception will be held in Hammons Gallery on Dec. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. to offer viewers an opportunity to meet the artists.

The residence halls will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and re-open at noon on Sunday, Nov. 29. Doors will be locked and ID cards will not be activated unless prior arrangements have been made with a hall director. Students are encouraged to take any items of significant value with them, unplug all appliances (except refrigerators) and make certain their windows are locked.

Maurices at the Cornerstone Marketplace is holding a Toys for Tots drive to benefit Potter’s Clay Women’s and Children’s Shelter. The drive continues through Monday, Dec. 14, and customers can drop off their donations anytime during store hours Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m. Items needed include new, unwrapped toys for various ages. Donators will receive a coupon good for 20 percent off any one regular-priced Maurices item for each donation. Coupons are limited to 10 per person.
