ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist senior Will Gowdy has been named to the 2010 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II All-South Region Second Team, officials announced on Tuesday.

Gowdy was also a unanimous selection at outfielder to the 2010 All-Gulf South Conference First Team for the second-straight season, after earning GSC Player of the Year honors in 2009. The senior placed second on the team with 53 hits, including 14 doubles and lead the team with a .656 slugging percentage. Gowdy earned 2010 preseason National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-American honors before the season, after being named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-South Region First team and NCBWA First Team as a junior.

Valdosta State’s Brandon Decker earned All-South Region Player of the Year honors, while Hayden Simpson of Southern Arkansas was named as the All-South Region Pitcher of the Year.
