Lady Tigers force 25 turnovers in victory over OPSU; Move to 6-1 overall

ARKADELPHIA- For a second-straight day, it was defense that propelled Ouachita Baptist to victory, as the Lady Tigers recorded a 73-54 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State in the ORR Autogroup HPER/AT HSU Basketball Classic at Duke Wells Gym in Arkadelphia on Saturday.

Ouachita (6-1) shot 42 percent overall, while forcing a second-straight opponent to 20-plus turnovers, as Oklahoma Panhandle State committed 25 on the afternoon.

It was a promising shooting performance for Ouachita, as the Lady Tigers recorded a 43 percent night on three-pointers at 7-of-16 shooting, while narrowly winning the rebound margin, 40-38.

Freshman Nashia James continues a strong freshman season with a game-high 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting with five rebounds, four assists and five steals. In addition to James, junior A’Laeshia Adams added 14 points and senior Gabby Coleman chipped in 12.

Oklahoma Panhandle State shot just 34 percent, as Nicole Buhl led the team with 11 points.

Ouachita returns to action on Dec. 11 in Florence, Ala. to face North Alabama at 1 p.m.
