OBU cross country 8th at GSC meet

The Ouachita Baptist University women’s cross country team placed eighth in the Gulf South Conference Championships Friday morning at Veterans Park.

The Lady Tigers finished with 216 points, while Harding won the meet with 22. Behind the Lady Bisons were UAH (65), Arkansas Tech (76), West Georgia (142), North Alabama (151), West Florida (167) and Montevallo (199). Coming in behind Ouachita was Southern Arkansas (238), Valdosta State (254), West Alabama (254), Henderson State (332), Christian Brothers (365) and Arkansas-Monticello (394).

Logan Lyles was the first Lady Tiger to cross in 15th with a time of 20:07. Hannah Howard (43rd) and Amanda Boyce (44th) cross at 21:28 and 21:33, respectively. Hannah Wagley was the fourth Ouachita runner to finish in 51st with a time of 21:50. Monica Davis (64th) crossed at 22:36 and Nikki Anderson (75th) in 23:19. Avery Begley rounded out the Ouachita scoring in 79th in 23:33.

The next Ouachita cross country meet will be Nov. 8 at the NCAA Regionals in Searcy, Ark.
