OBU men’s tennis remains perfect with 9-0 GSC West win over Delta State

ARKADELPHIA – The seventh-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men’s tennis team remained perfect overall and in the Gulf South Conference West Division Sunday as the Tigers blanked Delta State, 9-0, at the Heflin Tennis Center.

Ouachita (12-0) allowed just six games during the three doubles matches. In the first doubles match, Mike Basler and Daniel Moser blanked Matt Dean and Tom Santos, 8-0. Jean Charles Diame and Pierre Tafelski defeated Julien Beckensteiner and Thiago Marion, 8-2, while Szymon Judek and Vasek Stverka beat Felipe Fonseca and Guilherme Russo, 8-4.

In singles action, Basler cruised past Santos, 6-0, 6-0, while Diame blanked Beckensteiner, 6-0, 6-0. Stverka defeated Dean, 6-1, 6-0 and Tafelski topped Marion, 6-0, 6-1. Moser beat Russo, 6-2, 6-1, while Judek finished the day with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Fonseca.

The Tigers travel 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 23 to Florida Tech.
