OBU Men’s tennis remains perfect with 9-0 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith

ARKADELPHIA – The seventh-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men’s tennis team remained perfect Friday night with a 9-0 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith at the Heflin Tennis Center.


The Tigers (10-0) took all three doubles matches, dropping a combined nine games.

Jan Plewinski and Till Heilshorn defeated Evan Piche and Matheus da Silva, 8-6 and Jean Charles Diame and Pierre Tafelski beat Andrew Todd and Kane Olsen, 8-2. Szymon Judek and Vasek Stverka downed Cameron Terrell and Martin Tabler, 8-1.

In singles action, Plewinski, ranked No. 26, defeated Olsen, 6-1, 6-2 and Heilshorn beat da Silva, 6-0, 6-3. Diame beat Piche 6-1, 6-1, while Tafelski beat Piche, 6-0, 6-0. Daniel Moser topped Todd, 6-1, 6-0 and Mike Basler defeated Josh Helland, 6-1, 6-0.

Ouachita returns to action 1:00 p.m., Sunday March 15 at the Heflin Tennis Center against Delta State in a Gulf South Conference West Division match.
