OBU volleyball completes season sweep of rival Henderson State

Meredith Henry had 11 kills as the Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team remained alive for a spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory over rival Henderson State in a key GSC West Division match at the Duke Wells Center.

The Lady Tigers (10-23 overall, 3-7 GSC West), who completed a season sweep over the Lady Reddies, won the match with scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-17.

Henry had 11 kills in 22 attempts, while hitting a team-high .364 to pace Ouachita’s offense. Lexie Hegi added 19 assists and nine digs. Raichel Settle chipped in with a team-high 11 digs.

Quen Banks led the Lady Reddies with 17 kills on 38 attempts. Dalia Serra finished with 19 assists. Defensively, Bethany Wright had a game-high 21 digs.

Ouachita takes a week off and resumes play 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Sturgis Center for Senior Day against Southern Arkansas in a Gulf South Conference West Division Match.
