OBU volleyball drops match to Harding

The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought, three-set Gulf South Conference West Division match Tuesday night 3-0 to Harding at the Sturgis Center.

The Lady Bisons (16-7 overall, 5-1 GSC West) fought off three game points before taking the first game 30-28 and went on to with the match with scores of 25-23, 25-18.

Meredith Henry paced the Ouachita offense with 12 kills, while hitting .522. Raichel Settle and Libby Merritt each finished with eight kills. Lexie Hegi led the Lady Tigers (5-19, 1-5) with 32 assists. Defensively, Lauren Stuart had 18 digs, while Settle and Kristyn Howk chipped in with 16 and 10, respectively.

Manuela Nesheva led the Harding offense with 20 kills, while Leah Tepe recorded 43 assists and 10 digs. Emily Tate added 22 digs.

Ouachita continues Gulf South Conference West Division action 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Sturgis Center against Arkansas Tech.
