OBU volleyball drops match to Saint Leo

The Ouachita Baptist University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought non-conference match Saturday morning, 3-0, to Saint Leo in the Sturgis Center.

The Lions (21-6) defeated the Lady Tigers (5-18) by scores of 25-12, 25-21, 25-23.

Libby Merritt paced the Ouachita offense with 12 kills, while Meredith Henry added 10. Lexie Hegi recorded 33 assists and 11 digs for the double-double. Raichel Settle led the Lady Tigers defensively with 15 digs and Lauren Stuart chipped in with 11.

Jenna Jordan and Kaitlin McKenna led Saint Leo with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Michelle Nogueras had 30 assists and 12 digs. Jordan also added a team-high 18 digs, while Kim Nuckols finished with 11.

The Lady Tigers are back in action for a pair of Gulf South Conference West Division matches starting 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14 against Harding at home, and then Ouachita plays host 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16 against Arkansas Tech at the Sturgis Center.
