ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist University Head Women’s Basketball Coach Garry Crowder has announced the signing of Yasmine Pace of Star City to a National Letter of Intent to join the women’s basketball program beginning in the Fall of 2011.

The 5’11 forward earned Class 4A All-State and All-Conference honors as a senior, averaging 16 points per game and seven rebounds in her final prep campaign. Pace led the Lady Bulldogs to the Class 4A State Semi-Finals, falling to Prairie Grove, 61-56.

During her junior season, Pace led Star Ciy to the State Finals, where they fell to Prairie Grove. Pace was coached by Becky Brown at Star City, and is well acquainted with Ouachita’s Bill Vining Arena, as her team has won three-straight Ouachita Lady Tiger Tip-Off Classics.

Ouachita finished the 2010-11 season at 20-9, advancing to the NCAA South Regional Tournament for the second time in the past three seasons. The Lady Tigers finished 10-4 in the Gulf South Conference West Division, advancing to the semi-finals of the GSC Tournament.

All players will report to campus in August to begin preparation for the 2011-12 season.
