Ouachita to host Tiger Day Feb. 18 for prospective students

February 11, 2013

Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Admissions Counseling will host a Tiger Day Monday, Feb. 18, as a way for prospective students to get a sneak peek at campus life.

“You really get a snapshot of what it’s like on campus,” said Lori Motl, OBU’s director of admissions counseling. “The opportunity to sit in on class especially gives you a great feel for what it is like to be a student at Ouachita.”

Check-in for Tiger Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the lobby of Hickingbotham Hall, followed by the opening program at 9 a.m. in Young Auditorium. Visiting students will then have the opportunity to attend classes at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. while parents take a campus tour and attend the Parent Panel in Young Auditorium. Lunch will be provided at 12 noon in Walker Conference Center. Families may take an optional tour of residence halls at 1 p.m.

Motl added that interaction with current OBU students is a highlight of Tiger Days. “Many times I’ve had families stop me at the end and ask if it’s a setup,” Motl said. “They think the students can’t truly be that friendly. And I tell them that’s just how our students are.”
