•The #25 Lady Tiger soccer team won Sunday against Northeastern State, 5-0 and out shot the Riverhawks 21-9. Senior Joyce Hansen had a hat trick for the Lady Tigers, with sophomore Alicia Marshall scoring one and junior Paige Ross heading in sophomore Sarah Reed’s corner kick for the final goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Jordan had five saves.


•The Lady Tiger soccer team won again on Tuesday pushing their record to 6-1-2. The Lady Tigers defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis 2-1 at the Ouachita Soccer fields. Senior Joyce Hansen started the scoring with a header off of sophomore Sarah Reed’s corner kick. Junior Paige Ross added the winning goal in the 73rd minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Jordan had four saves.

•The volleyball team won Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over the University of Arkansas at Monticello. The Lady Tigers won 30-17, 32-34, 30-23, and 30-27 to move them to 2-1 in conference play. Senior Breanne Garrett had 31 kills for the Lady Tigers with sophomore Anna Ryan and junior Meredith Henry adding 11 and 10 respectively. Senior Brettney Cheatham had 65 assists and senior Becky Cunningham had 35 digs. The Lady Tigers face rival Henderson State at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27.

•The Ouachita men’s tennis team played their first match of the year last weekend. The team won six singles and one doubles match on Friday. On Saturday the team won two singles and five doubles matches. Senior Ondrej Vana won the singles flight at the tournament. Vana was not the only to win matches at the tournament. Teammates senior Vagen Akapian, senior Jakub Smid, senior Isaac Anders, senior Sam Wrinkle and junior Toshi Goda also earned victories in singles and some in doubles.
