Softball team opens season

The Ouachita Baptist University softball team opened the season Friday by splitting a pair of games during the first day of the Second Annual Spring Slam Tournament as the Lady Tigers defeated Lincoln, 7-6, but fell to Missouri-St. Louis, 8-5.

No statistical information was given for both games from Arkansas Tech University, the host institution of the Spring Slam.

Ouachita continues play at the Spring Slam 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7 against Southwest Baptist and the Lady Tigers finish the day 3 p.m., against Northeastern State.
