The Christmas shopping review

December 9, 2008

Christmas is almost here. Can you believe it? With Black Friday behind us and nothing but tinsel, evergreen and Christmas goodies ahead, people all over are getting into the Christmas spirit. The question on everyone’s mind now is what presents should we get for the ones we love? What are the hot gifts of the 2008 holiday season?

After many numerous Google searches, I have come to find five extraordinary gifts that every top 10 list includes: Nintendo Wii, iPhone, Amazon Kindle, digital cameras and the infamous gift card.

While all of those gifts would be absolutely amazing to find under the Christmas tree, let’s be realistic. As college kids, we do not have that kind of money to spend on gifts.

So, again, in a Google search, I found the best bargains of the holiday season.

Old Navy pajama pants. They are $16.50 for women and only $10 for men. Super festive and super fun.

Target.com. There are awesome watches and jewelry for $25 and under. I’m partial to the Geneva Platinum Men’s 3-Dial World Traveler — three faces, three different colors and a sweet black band. It is gorgeous.

Best Buy … anything. You cannot go wrong with the myriad of items in that store. compact discs, DVDs, video games, webcams or even a gift card for anyone on your list.

If all else fails and you happen to be just flat out broke, be sentimental. Make your buds a CD of their favorite songs or put a photo album together. Gentlemen, make a lovely Christmas dinner for your special lady, with mistletoe and candlelight.  There is more to be said for where the heart is in giving, than what the gift is.

Have a great Christmas season, be safe and have fun! Best wishes to all and to all a happy saving!
