The Great American Conference released their Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for the week of September 13 and the Lady Tigers had two players featured.

Senior forward Beth Wendl was named as Offensive Player of the Week, after a spectacular start to the season. Wendl collected the first goal in GAC Women’s Soccer history, when she scored a goal against Harding on Friday in a 3-0 victory for Ouachita. She is currently leading the Lady Tigers with a total of six points, including two goals and two assists, helping Ouachita to an overall record of 2-1 so far.

Senior Whitley Hoppe was named as Goalkeeper of the Week, after posting two shutout performances against Harding and Hendrix College. The only goal allowed by Hoppe so far this season came against Texas A&M International on Sunday, a game in which she played all 90 minutes and collected three saves. Hoppe has collected eight saves so far this season.

Also listed as an honorable mention this week was Ouachita junior defender Lauren Hatch. Hatch collected a goal and three assists for the Tigers this week.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Sunday, Sept. 18, when they face off against Northeastern Oklahoma State at 1:30 p.m., marking their first regular season match-up at home.
