Men’s tennis blanks Oklahoma Christian

The 14th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University men’s tennis team continued its hot start by blanking No. 23 Oklahoma Christian, 9-0, Saturday at the Heflin Tennis Center.

The Tigers (4-0) opened play in doubles action as Jean Charles Diame and Pierre Tafelski defeated Maxim Salitra and Henson Adams, 8-1. Jan Plewinski and Till Heilshorn toppled Thomas Van Cauter and Florian Thies, 8-6 and Mike Basler and Daniel Moser beat Trey Baring and Esteban Flores, 8-2.

In singles play, Diame defeated Thies, 6-0, 6-2, while Tafelski topped Salitra, 6-0, 6-2. Heilshorn beat Flores, 6-2, 6-3 and Moser beat Baring, 6-1, 6-0. Vasek Stverka defeated Adams, 7-5, 6-2 and No. 26 Plewinski defeated Van Cauter, 6-2, 6-4.

Ouachita returns to action by playing host 1:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27 to No. 9 West Florida at the Heflin Tennis Center.
