March 4, 2009

Danielle DeNicola, a sophomore vocal performance major from Waxahachie, Texas, will present her sophomore voice recital on March 6 at 11 a.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

DeNicola has appeared in OBU’s productions of the operas “The Pirates of Penzance” and “Alice in Wonderland,” and she was a semifinalist in the 2007 regional and 2008 and 2009 state auditions held by the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She was also recently accepted into the summer study abroad program at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music in Salzburg.

DeNicola will begin the recital with W.A. Mozart’s “Una donna a quindici anni,” followed by Franz Schubert’s “Heidenröslein” and Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune.” She will continue with Aaron Copland’s “Laurie’s Song,” concluding with Richard Hundley’s “Postcard from Spain.”

The recital is free and open to the public. For more information, contact OBU’s School of Fine Arts at (870) 245-5129.
