OBU Division of Music presents Lauren Casteel in sophomore recital

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Lauren Casteel, a sophomore musical theatre major from Garland, Texas, will present her sophomore musical theatre recital on April 17 at 11 a.m. in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

Casteel has been named a semi-finalist in the sophomore women division of the Arkansas National Association of Teachers Singing (NATS) auditions and has appeared on the OBU stage as Lucy in “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” She is a member of Theta Alpha Phi national honor fraternity for theatre arts and serves as an OBU resident assistant.

Casteel will open the recital with Bob Merrill’s “Mira” from Carnival. She will then perform Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera, assisted by Xavier Lagunas. She will continue with Neil Simon’s “Rumors” and conclude the recital with Richard Adler and Jerry Ross’s “Hernando’s Hideaway” from The Pajama Game, assisted by C.E. Fifer. Casteel will be accompanied on the piano by Phyllis Walker.
