The Gulf South Conference “Match of the Week” lived up to the hype as the Ouachita Baptist volleyball team dropped a heartbreaking 3-1 match Thursday night to Christian Brothers at the Sturgis Center.

In front of a very loud crowd, Ouachita Baptist (1-14 overall, 0-2 GSC West) came out fired up, but Christian Brothers (14-4, 2-0) stole the first game, 25-16. The Lady Tigers responded by taking the second game, 25-17. However, the Lady Bucs were too much as Christian Brothers to the third and fourth games, 25-15, 29-27.

Meredith Henry led three Ouachita Baptist players in kills with 20. Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Week Libby Merritt added 11, while Raichel Settle had a double-double finishing with 10 kills and 15 digs. Lexie Hegi recorded 45 assists and 10 digs. Lauren Stuart chipped in with a team-high 17 digs.

Aubrey Pancratz paced Christian Brothers with 13 kills. Jenna Cherry and Kelly Nolan each had 10. Whitney Weyhrich finished with 35 assists and Nolan led the charge defensively with a team-high 20 digs.
