Former U.S. Senator David Pryor holds book signing at OBU

October 3, 2008

Former U.S. Senator David Pryor, a native of Camden, Ark., will visit the campus of Ouachita Baptist University on Wednesday, Oct. 8, as a part of the book signing tour for his recent autobiography, “A Pryor Commitment.”

Pryor will speak to classes at 11 a.m. about his book and his career in politics. From 1:30-3 p.m. he will be available to sign copies of his autobiography at the OBU bookstore, located on the first floor of Evans Student Center. The book signing is open to the public.

The former senator has said that his book, which is published by the University of Arkansas’ Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, is as much about his home state as it is about his 40-year career in politics.

Pryor has served Arkansas in various public offices, including two years as governor of Arkansas and 18 years as a United States senator. He was recently named Bill Gwatney’s successor as chairman of the Arkansas Democratic Party.
