Tiger Serve Day: Spring 2011

April 1, 2011

Tiger Serve Day is scheduled for Saturday April 2nd. This is one of the many ways that Ouachita students serve. One saturday each semester students collaborate into teams and head out to bless the community. Ouachita’s mission statement is all about Grow. Work. Engage. Tiger Serve Day combines these three branches into one morning of service. As students work hard to help out the community they engage with those they are serving, and with fellow students. They grow spiritually and learn what Paul meant when he said, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35, NIV.

Thanks to all of the students and faculty who make Tiger Serve Day such a huge success and if you are looking for a way to serve but aren’t able to make it out saturday morning, contact the Elrod center for more opportunities to grow, work, and engage.
