ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist Sophomore Brock Green has been named Gulf South Conference Baseball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.

Green led the Tigers (2-4) to a victory over Kentucky Wesleyan, 19-6, on Saturday with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate, including 3 RBI and a double. On Sunday, while Ouachita dropped a 3-2 rain-shortened decision to Kentucky Wesleyan in seven innings, Green still provided sparks at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a solo home run.

The Hot Springs native is a 2010 GSC Preseason All-GSC Baseball Team selection and was the 2009 GSC Freshman of the Year. Green is currently batting .350 on the season, including two doubles, 5 RBI, with a home run and is Ouachita’s first weekly honoree of the season.

Ouachita Baptist returns to Rab Rodgers Field on Wednesday to take on Evangel University in a doubleheader series beginning at 12 p.m.
