Lady Tigers enters Regional Rankings

The Ouachita Baptist University women’s basketball team entered the NCAA Division II South Region rankings Wednesday as the Lady Tigers were seventh.

Ouachita (17-6 overall, 6-4 GSC West) are one of five Gulf South Conference inside the Top 10 as eight teams will be selected to participate in this March’s Region Tournament. Delta State is the highest GSC school in second, followed by West Georgia. Arkansas-Monticello sits in ninth, and Harding 10th.

Rollins holds the top spot, boating a 20-3 overall record and an 18-3 mark inside the region. Fort Valley State is fourth, while Florida Southern is fifth. Tampa is sixth and Clark Atlanta is eighth.

Ouachita plays host in its “Pink Zone” game 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 against Arkansas Tech in a Gulf South Conference West Division game at Bill Vining Arena. Fans and cancer survivors are encouraged wear pink. The game can be heard through the Ouachita Baptist University Athletic Web site at www.obutigers.com.
