OBU men’s basketball to tip-off season at Kentucky

The Ouachita Baptist University men’s basketball team opens the 2008-09 season 6 p.m. CST Friday, Nov. 7 in historic Rupp Arena against NCAA Division I Kentucky in an exhibition game.

The Tigers, who are picked to win the Gulf South Conference West Division, meet Kentucky Friday and travel to McNeese State Sunday for exhibition contests.

Ouachita, who began last season with an 85-59 loss at Division I Texas A&M, will open the regular season on the road Nov. 14-15 at the St. Edward’s Shootout Classic against Texas A&M-International and host St. Edward’s. The Tigers’ first home contest comes Nov. 18 at Bill Vining Arena against LeTourneau.

The Ouachita-Kentucky game tips-off 6 p.m., central time and can be heard on the Ouachita Baptist athletic Web site at: www.obutigers.com. Mitchell Bolding and Chris Babb will call the action from Rupp Arena.
